What is going on?!? Apparently it's been so long since I blogged that I no longer "remember" how to insert a title. Or maybe my account is just mad at me and not letting me. Anyway, life has been exceptionally busy (and not just with drinking beer) so I haven't had time to write. And I was a little traumatized by the Thrashers being swept in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs so I was out of whack for a little while. But not that long. Really, I have no excuse besides being busy.
I ran the Peachtree Road Race last week and met my goal of running the whole thing (which I did in one hour and nine minutes- not great but I have new goals). Next year I want to run in less than one hour and in 2009 I want to run it in less than 55 minutes (that's what you use to have to do in order to get the t-shirt). To help myself meet these goals I'm going to run a half marathon in November. Really, the training schedule isn't that hard. It's two 3,4, or 5 mile runs during the week and one long run on the weekend. I did the six mile run easily on Sunday but it's when I get up to the 9 to 13 mile range that I'll start to wonder if I really went crazy went I set this goal. But on the bright side, long Sunday runs mean a good excuse to drink beer on Sunday evenings.
In other beer news, I started a Beer Club. For some unknown reason, some men wanted to join Women Who Wine. I put my foot down by stating the obvious- it's Women Who Wine, not People Who Wine. The Beer Bitches (or Bitchin' Beer Babes, as my dad came up with very quickly) was already in the works so I just switched it to Beer Club. Each month we'll meet (Friday was our first gathering) and have a different beer theme. This month it was Georgia microbrews. I'm not sure what next month will be. I'm open to suggestions. Cornhole has become our official game for some reason. Never heard of it? Grab some beer and give it a go sometime. Don't know what the heck I'm talking about? Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornhole_(game). Yes, it's just a glorified bean bag toss.
Well, since I'm supposed to be doing volunteer work at ten in the morning, I'd better get to sleep. Cheers.
